This random orbital lets you apply polishing solution or wax to your vehicle quickly and easily without damaging your paint job. It's safer and easier to use than a high-speed polisher, and it's more effective than a non-random orbital. With a 21-mm orbit, this long-throw orbital will apply more solution faster than a machine with a standard 8-mm orbit. Designed for professional use, this 6-speed unit also features a lockable speed trigger and an ergonomic handheld design. Polish or wax your vehicle like a car care expert with the BOSS G21.
The BOSS G21 random orbital features dual-action rotation. While the buffing pad (sold separately) continuously spins on the spindle, the backing plate that the pad is attached to rotates in an elliptical pattern. These combined motions spread the solution in a smooth, even pattern across your vehicle's surface. The smooth distribution also keeps the solution from leaving ugly streaks after drying.
Unlike a rotary buffer, a dual-action orbital won't spin the pad in the exact same spot repeatedly. This minimizes friction, which in turn limits any heat buildup that could cause blistering to your paint. The dual-action rotation not only keeps your paint job intact, but it also prevents you from burning yourself on a hot vehicle surface.
The BOSS G21 long-throw orbital covers more surface area faster than a polisher with a traditional 8-mm throw. As a result, you'll be able to complete even deep buffing or tough polishing jobs in a fraction of the time.
The BOSS G21 random orbital has 6 settings so that you can increase or decrease the speed at which the pad and backing plate move. Setting 1 will give you the slowest speed, while Setting 6 will give you the fastest.
For applications that require varying spinning speeds, you can use the throttle trigger on the orbital's underside to gradually increase or decrease the orbital's spinning speed. Just press down harder for a faster speed. Once you reach the speed you want, you can press the trigger on the orbital's handle to lock the orbital on that speed.
When waxing your vehicle, it's recommended that you use a lower setting, like 2 or 3. A slower speed will apply product more gently, giving you more control over the application. Keep in mind that, if the orbital speed is too slow, it can keep the product from spreading properly, which can leave messy streaks on your ride.
To correct defects with a correcting compound, or to buff out minor scuffs or swirls with a polish, a speed of 4 or 5 is usually recommended. When using a faster speed, be sure to hold the orbital extra-steady to ensure that the solution is spread evenly without splattering.
To use this orbital polisher, begin by attaching a buffing or polishing pad (sold separately) to the orbital's head. Be sure that the pad is securely attached and properly centered on the backing plate. Apply your compound in a spiral onto the pad. This spiral pattern will assist in evenly distributing the solution as you slowly move the orbital across your vehicle's surface.
When you're ready to get started, set the orbital head on your vehicle's surface and turn on the power. You want to be sure to set the orbital down before powering it on to avoid splattering the compound. Start spreading on the lowest speed, then gradually increase the speed to the recommended setting for your application. Keep the pad flat on the vehicle and apply even pressure for the best possible spread. It's recommended that you do 2 full passes with the orbital, but you can perform additional passes, if needed.
When you're done, check for any extra residue and use a clean towel to wipe it off.

Speaker 1: Today, we're going to take a look at the Griot's Garage The Boss G21 Long-Throw Random Orbital. Now, this Boss G21 Long-Throw Orbital will combine a perfect balance of performance, control and comfort. Now, this is a 21 millimeter Long-Throw Orbit with a powerful 900 watts, seven and a half amp motor. Now, the main advantage of a Long-Throw machine is pad rotation. Basically a pad that rotates in a larger orbit does more work per pass, and your liquids are more effective and you get results that surpass your expectation. Now, this Boss, with its 21 millimeter orbit, represents about a 162% increase in orbit throw when compared to a conventional orbital's eight millimeter throw. This is a dual-action machine that lets you achieve your desired polishing and waxing effect. This can be used for correcting, which will mean removing major scratches and blemishes with a polisher compound, can be used for perfecting, which will remove minor scratches and swirl marks with a mild polish, or protecting, shielding the paint finish from the elements with a nice wax or sealant. For control, it offers a maximum speed dial right here from a number one all the way up to number six setting.
Now, the number one setting is 1800 orbits per minute. The number six setting is 5,000 orbits per minute. Does use a variable trigger throttle right down here, you just push it for the speed you need.If you want, when you push it in, there's a button on the side. It's a trigger to lock. You can just push it in and then push that button, and it'll hold it into that position so you don't have to keep holding the trigger lock.
To release the button or the trigger lock, just push on it and it'll release it just like that. This will give you near-instant startup to induce consistent product application, no sling, no mess. For comfort, it does use an extensive energy dampening double shot rubber grip right here, it's an ergonomically designed pistol. Right up here, they call it a Platypus Grip for nice even pressure. This is designed for use with Griot's Garage Boss Microfiber Pads, Foam Buffer Pads and Creams. We do sell those all separately on our website.Power output on this, wattage is 900 watts, amps is seven and a half amps.
The cord length gives you 13 feet of cord. Backing plate diameter is six inches. Now, this can be used with either a five inch or a six inch pad system. Weight on this is only about five pounds. Does include everything laid out here on the table, gives you this nice reinforced mesh zippered storage bag for carrying everything all in one place.
Gives you this Allen key wrench, which we'd use to take on and off your pad just like that.Comes with a couple of replacement carbon brushes, which are easy to replace right here and on this side. If you just unscrew that, you could put new brushes in there. Does come with some stainless steel spacers for your washer modification, and even a nice little tube of silicon grease for lubrication. You can just zip it closed and keep it all in one storage bag. Does come with a nice user's manual. They also include in the packaging this nice poster that describes the Boss. What's nice is when you open it up, you'll see a nice poster that'll show you how to match the correct pad with the correct liquid and the correct process. Matches everything up for you, so you can put that up on your wall to keep track of everything. That should do it for the review on the Griot's Garage The Boss G21 Long-Throw Random Orbital.
